Amber Alert is a new company offering a service that many parents are glad to have. They make child GPS tracking devices that can locate lost or abducted children within seconds.
The technology isn’t exactly new and is similar to the GPS navigation systems that are found in many cars now but the addition of cell phone technology and some pretty clever software makes these devices a must have for many parents.
The devices themselves are very small and can easily be attached to children’s clothes or tucked away in their school backpack. At any time the parent can phone a special number and the Amber Alert system will locate the child’s device, receive the GPS tracking coordinates and relay them back to the parent’s cell phone to be shown on a map.
There is also a feature that allows a specific area to be programmed into the device. The moment the child wanders out of this area or worse, is taken out, the device will trigger and immediately call the parents with the information.
Another safety device is the panic button. If the child is ever frightened or lost they can press this button and an SOS signal is sent to the parents with the child’s location so that they can act quickly. The parent can even listen in on their cellphone to what is going on.
There are lots of reasons why kids go missing. Most are innocent enough but all are a nightmare for the parents. Having the ability to just press a few buttons and know exactly where your child is can be an enormous benefit for parents and children alike.
